Lecturer Pack

Many Universities now offer a Transportation Planning course as part of their curriculum, often with a practical content in which students build their own models using a comprehensive software platform, thereby putting theory in practice. The planning, development and testing of these models, can require substantial effort by the lecturer, as well as the need to keep the model updated with the latest developments in the software.

In response to this need, Omnitrans International has developed a series of resources designed to support the teaching of transport modelling and practical applications. These resources are made available through the Lecturer Pack.

Lecturer Pack

The OmniTRANS Lecturer Pack consist of a student workbook that covers the various stages of building a small multi-modal transport model. Starting with a model template and a set of data, the student is taken through the process of network building, trip generation, trip distribution, modal split and assignment. Exercises both in OmniTRANS and in typical spreadsheet software will teach the student the major concepts of transport modelling. The student workbook can be used in formal lectures or for self-study by students working in their own time.
