OmniTRANS V6: Fast and flexible analysis

Wednesday, June 8, 2011

As a user, you always want to have full control of the display of network objects. While you are zoomed in, you might want to have knowledge on object numbers for nodes and links and possibly to show (banned) turns. But when viewing larger areas from the network at once, you do not want to display this detailed information. Version 6.0 introduces the concept of zoom levels. This factor works with all coordinate systems and allows you to specifiy for which zoom ranges you want to display network objects. For example, you can define to display node numbers only when zoomed in at street level. In practice, this means that the numbers are shown and hidden automatically when zooming in and out. This saves you much time and is especially clever during presentations to colleagues and clients.

Other improvements in network display and the graphical user interface are the groupwise rendering of transit lines and categorised designs and persistent selections. In dense public transport networks, the rendering of transit lines might result in a cluttered image. Version 6.0 introduces several new concepts for the groupwise rendering of transit lines. Next to 'traditional' rendering where all transit lines are aligned together, you can display transit lines fully overlapped or overlapped per mode.

The Design Manager allows you to organise and group your designs and selections into a hierarchy of folders. In models with multiple analysis schemes, this allows you to easily find the appropriate scheme for the desired analysis.

Furthermore, the designers support dynamic queries in addition to predefined selections.
