Boss off-line

BOSS off-Line is a plug-in to OmniTRANS developed for the Netherlands Ministry of Transport (AVV), which follows the principles of the Dutch Traffic Management Architecture (TMA).

BOSS off-line is a Dutch acronynm for Decision Support System. With the off-line version, a network manager can model the effects of traffic management measures on the motorway network. The system is intended for analysis of network performance under existing situations or potential management scenarios, allowing the effects of dynamic traffic schemes on operation of the network to be understood prior to implementation. BOSS off-Line provides the ideal tool for refining these scenarios prior to scheme implementation.

The plug-in developed by Omnitrans International provides a user-friendly software interface that follows the steps of the TMA procedures. By inserting a DVD with detector data, any day from the past may be "replayed". All detectors in the Netherlands are recognised by this system.
