OmniTRANS is a single comprehensive tool that allows for all types of modelling. The licence controls the availability of features, which is controlled through so-called ‘packs’. This page lists the packs and their core features. More detailed information on each pack is available by using the links on this page and the menu on the right.

 

Data Manager

The Data Manager pack is a base pack required to use the software and offers you the full control functionality of all the data. This includes network editing, the import and export of all kinds of data, analysis of model results and the development of project templates for repetitive usage across your organisation.

Demand Modelling

The Demand Modelling pack offers a range of tools for fast and effective demand modelling. This includes trip generation calculation, trip distribution, growth-factoring and discrete choice models.

Static Traffic Assignment

The Static Traffic Assignment pack gives access to the OtTraffic class. This class supports all-or-nothing and a range of capacity restraint assignment techniques, including: incremental, volume averaging, user equilibrium and system optimum. All techniques allow to incorporate intersection effects and stochastic user perception. Assignments can be performed in a multi-class setting with interaction between multiple modes, using the concept of shared space. Special assignments can be made for analysis of subareas and specific links.

Dynamic Traffic Assignment

For realistic modelling of congestion dynamic, OmniTRANS offers a macroscopic dynamic traffic assignment model (MaDAM). The model has been designed to reflect the propagation of traffic through the network roads and junctions due to variation in demand over time, and the response of traffic to dynamic conditions within the model. It support multiple classes and because of its advanced junction modelling, it is applicable to both urban and highway networks simulataneously.

Public Transit Assignment

OmniTRANS considers each door-to-door journey as a chain of travel modes allowing an accurate representation of the access, egress and transfer legs within the public transport system. The Public Transit Assignment pack offers OtTransit, an extensive modelling class that takes into account congestion that may influence access and egress options and models the public transport using separately controllable transitline and stop choice models, allowing for multi-route usage.

Matrix Estimation

To ensure model validation, the Matrix Estimation pack offers you a modelling class where empirical data is used as constraints on a single matrix or a series of matrices. The class can be used to improve the estimation of mode choice, route choice, departure time choice, and to allocate demand by travel purpose, vehicle class, commodity or any other dimension for which data is available.
