History of Omnitrans International

The corporate history behind OmniTRANS stems from the beginning of transport modelling in the Netherlands in 1963, following various milestones in the development of the practice by Goudappel Coffeng in partnership with various researchers. The challenges of multimodal and environmental planning required a burgeoning library of extensions to commercial software, which evolved into the software OmniTRANS during the 1990’s. As the momentum behind the software grew, Omnitrans International was established in 2003 as a separate company so that clients were assured of focussed support, to provide enhanced scope for innovation, ensuring the software would always be developed to meet the emerging needs for transport planning and modelling.
