The LUTI model simulates the development of the land use system and the demands for participation in activities and travel that arise into the future, under a given scenario of planned changes in the transport network.
This application integrates OmniTRANS with DELTA (David Simmonds Consultancy), providing an intuitive LUTI model, suitable for use by planners and students.
In each year of the model, changes in activity and travel demands lead to changes in congestion levels and accessibility to certain activities. This in turn infl uences land use and socioeconomic changes in the next period.
The model system also provides a range of interactive tools for analysis of land use transport scenarios.
The LUTI model system
With the addition of a few classes and methods to refl ect activities, attributes and the scope of both land use and transport models, OmniTRANS provides the ideal platform for an integrated model of land use and transport interaction (LUTI).
Modelling land use changes in DELTA
DELTA is integrated with the application, allowing state-ofthe-art forecasts of land use to be influenced by travel costs and accessibilities as well as socioeconomic parameters, planning policy and migration patterns.
Analysis of scenarios
Select from a wide range of graphical and interactive charts to analyse the forecast changes in land use and related activity and travel demands. Assess the performance of the transport network and effectiveness of proposed new roads or services to serve anticipated developments.
